Canoe Slalom Game Olympic Google Doodle

Olympic Google Doodles has became full-fledged games, each featuring a sport like Basketball or Hurdles. Today’s Doodle is no different and we have the ability of playing the Canoe Slalom right on the Google homepage. Canoe Slalom was introduced in 2008 Beijing Olympics and became an instant hit. The objective is to steer your canoe through several obstacles and compete the event with the lowest possible time.

Today’s Doodle allows you to do the same where you need to use your right and left arrow signs to steer the canoe and simultaneously time your vertical movements using the up down arrow keys. The four keys feel very cramped and it is impossible to control both your speed and movement at the same time. The game is pretty similar to the original event where your mission is to steer the canoe to the finish line from a bird’s eye view angle. You will encounter obstacles like boulders, changes in the water stream and some weird little creature that pops out of water. You will hit them, no matter what and it will slow you down. The timings can be shared in Google+ and the end screen also allows you to view the search query “Canoe Slalom” in Google. The best thing about the Doodle is the creative start screen featuring the letters of Google rather than the game itself.
